Player Protection, Transparency & Accountability

Player Protection, Transparency & Accountability

At 6 For Gold, we want our prize competitions to be operated responsibly, fairly and transparently.

We have introduced a range of measures designed to support player protection, provide clear information about how our competitions operate, and maintain appropriate records and processes for reviewing our practices.

We are working towards the standards set out in the UK Government's Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.

The measures currently in place at 6 For Gold are explained below.

Player Protection Measures

6 For Gold provides a range of tools and processes intended to help customers manage their participation responsibly.

Our current measures include:

  • Spending Limits — customers can set a Daily or Monthly Spending Limit, including a limit of £0.

  • Cool-Off — customers can take a temporary break from paid competition entries for 24 Hours, 7 Days, 14 Days or 30 Days.

  • Self-Exclusion — customers can restrict their participation for longer periods using the options available through Player Protection.

  • 18+ Participation — our competitions are restricted to eligible participants aged 18 or over.

  • Harm Monitoring & Intervention — we maintain an internal process for identifying and reviewing indicators of potential harmful or excessive participation and recording proportionate action and follow-up where appropriate.

  • Responsible Play Information — customers can access information about responsible participation, Player Protection tools and independent support organisations through our Responsible Play page.

Customers can access their available Player Protection tools while logged into their account through My Tickets → Player Protection.

Transparency

We aim to give customers clear information about each competition before they choose whether to enter.

Our transparency measures include:

  • Competition Information — individual competition pages display key information including the entry price, prize, closing date and relevant entry details.

  • Free Entry Routes — free entry information is displayed prominently on competition pages before purchase, with full instructions available for our online and postal free entry routes.

  • Draw Process — winners are selected at random using RANDOM.ORG. Information explaining how entries are included in the draw and how winners are selected is provided in our Terms & Conditions and on relevant competition pages.

  • Free Magpie Pool — valid online free entries, including Free Magpie button entries where available, are included in the Free Magpie pool represented by Ticket #1. If Ticket #1 is selected, a second random draw between the valid entrants in that pool determines the winner.

  • Postal Free Entries — valid postal free entries accepted into a competition are allocated an available ticket number directly in the main draw and do not form part of the online Free Magpie Ticket #1 pool.

  • Prize Information — the advertised prize and relevant prize details are displayed before entry.

  • Competition Closing Dates — we do not extend a competition, reduce its advertised prize or cancel it simply because an insufficient number of paid tickets have been sold.

  • Results — draw results are recorded and published by 6 For Gold.

  • Terms & Conditions — our Competition Terms & Conditions explain the rules governing eligibility, entry, winner selection, prizes, verification and complaints.

Accountability

6 For Gold is committed to reviewing and improving the way our competitions are operated.

Our accountability measures include:

  • Compliance Reviews — we periodically review our competition processes, website information, Player Protection measures and relevant policies and make improvements where issues are identified.

  • Record Keeping — we maintain appropriate internal records relating to Player Protection, harm monitoring, customer concerns and actions taken.

  • Complaints — complaints are recorded and handled through our published Complaints Procedure so that concerns can be investigated and, where appropriate, improvements made.

  • Third Parties — where third-party services support the operation of our competitions, we aim to use services that are appropriate for their intended purpose and review relevant arrangements where necessary.

  • Continuous Improvement — we continue to review developments and good practice within the UK prize competition sector and improve our procedures where appropriate.

We welcome questions or concerns about how our competitions operate. Customers can contact us at 6ForGold@proton.me.

Our Commitment

6 For Gold is working towards the standards set out in the UK Government's Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.

The Code is voluntary and is intended to strengthen player protection, transparency and accountability across the prize draw sector.
