1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to prize competitions and prize draws operated by 6 For Gold through our website.

6 For Gold is the promoter and is responsible for operating its competitions.

Please read these Terms before entering. By submitting an entry, you confirm that you agree to these Terms together with any specific information or conditions displayed on the relevant competition page.

Where specific competition information differs from these general Terms, the information clearly displayed for that particular competition will apply to that competition, provided that it is lawful and fair.

2. Who Can Enter

Unless a particular competition expressly states otherwise, competitions are open to residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) aged 18 or over.

By entering, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;

  • you are legally entitled to enter;

  • the information you provide is accurate;

  • you are entering on your own behalf; and

  • you agree to these Terms.

We may request reasonable evidence of age, identity, residence or eligibility.

If satisfactory evidence cannot be provided, we may reject an entry or withhold a prize where reasonably necessary.

Employees of 6 For Gold and people directly involved in administering or operating a competition may not enter that competition. Immediate family members of such persons may also be excluded where appropriate.

3. Customer Accounts

You may be required to have a 6 For Gold customer account to enter competitions or use certain features.

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up to date.

You must not create or use multiple identities or accounts for the purpose of circumventing entry restrictions, Player Protection measures or other competition rules.

You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure.

4. Paid Competition Entries

The price of a paid competition entry will be clearly displayed on the relevant competition page before purchase.

Where applicable, you may select available ticket numbers or use the ticket-selection options provided on the website.

An entry is not confirmed merely because an item has been added to your basket.

A paid entry is confirmed once the required payment has been successfully processed and the corresponding competition entry or ticket allocation has been recorded.

Your confirmed competition entries and ticket information may be available through your customer account and/or My Tickets area.

Entry limits may apply to individual competitions and will be displayed where applicable.

5. Free Entry

Eligible competitions provide a free entry route.

Details of the available free entry methods are provided on our website and should be read before submitting a free entry.

Online Free Entry

Where an online free entry route is available, eligible customers may submit an online free entry using the designated Free Entry form.

Unless otherwise stated, only one online free entry per person, per competition is permitted.

Valid online free entries are entered into the Free Magpie pool, represented by Ticket #1 in the main competition draw.

If Ticket #1 is selected as the winning ticket, a second random draw will be carried out between the valid online free entrants for that competition to determine the winner.

Postal Free Entry

Where postal entry is available, entrants may submit an entry using ordinary first- or second-class post to:

6 For Gold
5 Ariel Close
Cellardyke
Fife
KY10 3FG
United Kingdom

Each postal entry must contain the information specified on our Free Entry — Postal Route page.

Only one entry should be submitted per postcard or letter.

Postal entries must be received before the closing date and time of the relevant competition.

A valid postal entry will be allocated an available ticket number directly within the relevant competition.

Postal entries are therefore processed separately from the online Free Magpie Ticket #1 pool.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring that sufficient postage is paid and that their entry is sent early enough to arrive before the competition closes.

Full requirements for online and postal free entry are published in our Free Entry information.

6. Valid and Invalid Entries

An entry may be rejected where there are reasonable grounds to believe that it:

  • does not comply with these Terms;

  • contains false or materially inaccurate information;

  • was submitted by an ineligible person;

  • was received after the applicable closing date and time;

  • attempts to circumvent an entry restriction;

  • attempts to circumvent a Player Protection measure;

  • involves fraud, manipulation, automated abuse or misuse of the website;

  • involves multiple identities or accounts being used improperly; or

  • otherwise attempts to unfairly influence the operation or outcome of a competition.

We may investigate suspected misuse before deciding whether an entry is valid.

7. Competition Closing Dates

Each competition will display its closing date and time on the relevant competition page.

Entries must be successfully received and validated before that closing date and time to be included in the competition.

A competition does not need to sell all available paid tickets before the draw takes place.

6 For Gold will not extend a competition simply because fewer paid entries have been received than expected.

A closing or draw date may only be changed where exceptional circumstances make this reasonably necessary and where doing so is consistent with applicable law and promotional rules.

Where a material change becomes necessary, we will provide appropriate information to affected entrants.

8. The Draw and Winner Selection

After a competition has closed, the winner will be selected using a random selection process.

6 For Gold currently uses RANDOM.ORG as part of its winner-selection process.

The draw will be conducted using the valid entries applicable to that competition.

Where the online Free Magpie Ticket #1 is selected, a further random selection will be conducted between the valid online free entrants for that competition to determine the winner.

Where practical, draws may be shown live or recorded through our Facebook page or another 6 For Gold channel.

Draw information and winner information may also be recorded or published on our website.

Unless otherwise stated on the relevant competition page, there will be one main winner for each competition.

9. Winners

We will attempt to contact a winner using the contact information associated with their account or entry.

Customers are responsible for keeping their contact information accurate and checking communications from 6 For Gold, including spam or junk email folders.

Before releasing a prize, we may request reasonable evidence of the winner's:

  • identity;

  • age;

  • address;

  • eligibility; and

  • ownership of the relevant account or entry.

Where a winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period, does not provide required eligibility information, or is found not to have been eligible to enter, we may select another winner from the remaining valid entries where appropriate.

We will not withhold a prize merely because a winner does not agree to participate in promotional photographs, videos or publicity.

We may invite winners to provide photographs, videos, testimonials or participate in publicity, but participation will be dealt with appropriately and with regard to applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

10. Prizes

The prize available for each competition will be described on the relevant competition page.

6 For Gold will award the advertised prize in accordance with the competition information and these Terms.

A prize will not be reduced simply because fewer entries were received than expected.

Where a cash alternative is expressly offered as part of a competition, the amount or basis of that alternative will be stated in the relevant competition information.

If circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control make it impossible to provide the advertised non-cash prize, we may provide a reasonable equivalent of equal or greater value where lawful and appropriate.

Prizes are normally awarded only to the verified winner and cannot be transferred to another person unless we expressly agree otherwise.

We will make reasonable arrangements for delivery or transfer of the prize to the verified winner.

11. Player Protection

6 For Gold provides Player Protection tools designed to help customers control their participation.

Depending on the protection selected, these may include:

  • Spending Limits;

  • Cool-Off periods; and

  • Self-Exclusion.

The conditions and duration of a Player Protection measure will be explained when it is selected.

Where a Player Protection measure prevents paid competition entry, attempts to circumvent that restriction using another account, identity or other method may result in entries being rejected and further account restrictions being applied.

Further information is available on our Responsible Play and Player Protection pages.

12. Age and Eligibility Checks

6 For Gold competitions are for adults aged 18 and over.

We collect date-of-birth information and may use additional age or identity checks where reasonably appropriate.

Customers may also be required to confirm that they are aged 18 or over before completing a purchase.

We reserve the right to request evidence of age before accepting an entry or releasing a prize.

13. VIP Membership

Where offered, 6 For Gold VIP membership provides the benefits described at the time of purchase.

Our current VIP membership is provided for a 31-day membership period and does not automatically renew unless expressly stated otherwise at the point of purchase.

VIP benefits, eligibility and any competition-related benefits will be explained on the relevant VIP information or product page.

VIP membership does not guarantee that a member will win a competition.

14. Refunds

Competition entries are generally final once successfully processed and allocated.

Refunds will not normally be provided because an entrant changes their mind, enters the wrong competition or fails to check the competition information before entering.

Where a genuine payment or processing error occurs, we will investigate and provide an appropriate correction or refund where required.

Our separate Refund Policy provides further information.

Nothing in these Terms or our Refund Policy affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Exceptional Events and Competition Cancellation

6 For Gold will not cancel a competition merely because an insufficient number of paid entries have been received.

There may, however, be exceptional circumstances outside our reasonable control that make it impossible or unlawful for a competition to proceed as originally planned.

Examples may include serious technical failures, legal or regulatory requirements, fraud or security incidents, or circumstances affecting the availability of a prize that could not reasonably have been anticipated or avoided.

Where such circumstances occur, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disadvantage to entrants and will communicate material changes where appropriate.

Where a competition genuinely has to be cancelled for reasons unrelated to insufficient ticket sales, appropriate action will be taken for affected paid entrants, which may include refunds where appropriate.

Nothing in this section gives 6 For Gold an unrestricted right to alter competitions after customers have entered.

16. Technical Problems

We take reasonable steps to keep our website and competition systems operating correctly.

However, internet services and third-party systems can occasionally experience faults or interruptions.

If a technical problem affects an entry or payment, we will consider the available records and investigate the circumstances.

If a payment has been taken but the corresponding entry has not been correctly processed, please contact us so that we can investigate and provide an appropriate correction or refund.

We are not responsible for problems caused by a customer's own device, internet connection or inaccurate information provided by the customer, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

17. Fraud and Misuse

We may investigate activity where we reasonably suspect:

  • fraud;

  • payment abuse;

  • manipulation of competition systems;

  • creation or use of multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions;

  • interference with ticket allocation or winner selection;

  • misuse of free entry routes;

  • attempts to circumvent Player Protection measures; or

  • other deliberate abuse of 6 For Gold systems.

Where reasonably justified, we may reject affected entries, restrict an account or take other proportionate action.

Serious suspected unlawful activity may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

18. Privacy and Personal Information

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We use personal information where necessary to administer competitions, maintain entry records, contact and verify winners, deliver prizes, provide customer services, operate Player Protection measures and fulfil applicable legal obligations.

Further information about what we collect, why we use it, how long it may be retained, who it may be shared with and your data protection rights is available in our Privacy Policy.

19. Winner Information and Publicity

We may publish appropriate information about competition winners where permitted or required.

We will take account of applicable privacy, data protection and promotional requirements when doing so.

A winner may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity relating to their win.

Participation in optional promotional photographs, videos, interviews or testimonials is not a condition of receiving a prize unless a lawful and clearly disclosed requirement applies to a particular promotion.

20. Intellectual Property and Website Use

The content of the 6 For Gold website, including our branding, graphics, text and original website material, is protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You may use the website for your personal, lawful use.

You must not deliberately interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, manipulate our competition systems or use automated methods to abuse competition entry mechanisms.

Third-party trademarks, services and content remain the property of their respective owners.

21. Complaints

If you are unhappy with a competition, entry, payment, prize, Player Protection matter or another aspect of our service, please contact us.

Email: 6ForGold@proton.me

We maintain a separate Complaints Procedure explaining how complaints are handled, expected response times and what you can do if you remain dissatisfied.

We will aim to deal with complaints fairly and appropriately based on their circumstances.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these general Terms from time to time.

Updated Terms will be published on our website.

Changes to these general Terms will not be used to retrospectively remove or materially reduce rights already attached to an entry without appropriate justification.

The Terms and competition information applicable when an entry was made will be taken into account when resolving any subsequent issue concerning that entry.

23. Liability and Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or that were not caused by a breach on our part.

We are not responsible for business losses suffered by an individual entering a competition as a consumer.

24. Governing Law

These Terms and competitions operated by 6 For Gold are governed by applicable law in Great Britain.

As 6 For Gold is based in Scotland, Scottish law will generally apply to our relationship with customers, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdiction protections that apply to customers elsewhere in Great Britain.

Nothing in these Terms removes any right a consumer has to bring proceedings in a court available to them under applicable consumer law.
